HOW TO CLEANSE YOUR CRYSTALS
Updated: May 12
Just as we absorb energies, sometimes not resonant with us, also crystals do the same.
With the word clean, we mean the release process of energies, absorbed by the crystals, that are not aligned with those of the crystal.
By performing this procedure, the crystal will hold its original energy.
The first important thing to do, after you have bought a crystal and brought it home, it is to cleanse it. In fact, both in the place where it was previously located and also in the movements it has undergone, it will surely have had to do with energies that are not aligned with its own and that it will therefore have absorbed.
So, in the case we use crystals often, and/or we carry them with us often, it is important to clean them regularly.
There are many ways to clean crystals.
The first possibility you have is smudging them with Palo Santo, white Sage or incense. It ‘s important to allow the smoke to flow over the stones.
Citrine, kyanite, and azeztulite are self-cleaning.
The second way you have is use sound to cleanse them, for example a singing bowl.
Also in this case the crystals should be near the instrument, so that they are immersed in sound.
The third option you have is: Salt water. You have to put some sea salt in a cup of water and immerse the crystal in it . The water can be at a cold or environment temperature, not warm or hot!!
It’s important to remember that not all the crystal can be cleansed with salted water because of their composition.
Here below is a list of crystals not to be soaked in salt water:
- fire Opal,
- imperial Topaz,
- lapis lazuli,
- red Coral,
- any uncut, raw rough stone.
The fourth option you have is also to put directly your crystal in sea salt. They will have to stay there at least 7 or 8 hours. Again, make sure they don't get damaged...!
The fifth way you have, is to let your crystals out in the Sunlight and in the Moonlight! They can stay there to absorb the rays for two or three days. Make sure that they do not stay too much out there, they risk to get discolored over time.
The sixth option is to cleanse your stones using other crystals, like a large Amethyst, Citrine and Quarz clusters onto which place the crystals that need to be cleansed.
The seventh way is to cleanse your crystals submerging them in herbs such as rose petals, sage, frankincense, sandalwood but this process will last longer than the others.
The eighth option to cleanse your crystals is to place them into the earth. Choose a place that has energies resonanting with you and let them there for two or three days.
Of course, in the case you are able to practice Reiki, you can also cleanse them with the Reiki Energy!
I hope that you'll find this little guide useful!!
A send you love with all my heart!
